Marguerite Summy

Marguerite "Peg" Summy

I was born and raised in Southern California, living most of my life in Huntington Beach. I graduated high school in 1985 from Marina High School in Huntington Beach, and attended college at Golden West College, one of the nation's top cosmetology schools, where I graduated in 1986 receiving my cosmetology license. I married my high school sweetheart, a United States Air Force enlisted man, in 1987 and during the following 5 years, had three children. During that time, I relocated to Okinawa Japan, Homestead AFB Florida, and finally March AFB in the Riverside California area. In 1994, I divorced, and subsequently met my current husband Tony Summy shortly thereafter the same year. I gave birth to my fourth child (our first) in 1995, and am now a very successful homemaker. My hobbies are music and this silly computer. <grin> My primary musical instrument is my voice, having sung in several highly qualified choral groups, most recently in the choir of First Congregational Church of Long Beach, directed by Dr. Leland Vail. I recently recorded my first CD with various selections, and continue to explore my creativity in this area. Currently I am working on my certification to become a facilitator in family reconstruction. I head a family support group for a program associated with World Wide Associations of Specialty Programs AKA WWASP. In this support group my goal is to work with parents and their families as they struggle with issues regarding difficult teens and teens with drug and alcohol abuse, through support, referrals and education. I was first introduced to this program through Teen Help in February of 2002. Until then I continue learning and growing with my family and work as a secretary at our local congregational church, United Church of Christ here in Simi Valley.
